As a UX/UI designer in the Product Innovation and Design AI Lab at ETS, I play a critical role in helping the company launch some of our most successful products. I am the lead designer on a complete AI-driven modular, soft skills assessment platform; a mobile test prep app; a comprehensive test prep and insights portal for English language learners; and a host of other ongoing projects.

 

I use evidence-based design principles within an agile methodology to create low- and high-fidelity designs and clickable prototypes. I collaborate with a cross-functional team to ideate on potential concepts, developing them into fully realized products that leverage innovative AI technologies to create new ways of assessing skills.

As a UX/UI designer at this innovative fintech company, I created award-winning digital data integration/aggregation products. I was the primary designer responsible for a full redesign of the company’s investor web platform. I also designed and supported feature improvements and new functionality for a full line of digital products. Additionally, as a researcher at CircleBlack, I designed and implemented a comprehensive research plan utilizing qualitative and quantitative methods to gather benchmark data on all existing products and conducted iterative testing on designs under development.

In my work for R\West I applied mixed methods research to help e-commerce companies gain insight into how their customers were responding to a variety of elements from messaging and branding, to website functionality. My process included: Surveys, interviews, competitive analysis, remote mobile and laptop moderated and unmoderated benchmark usability testing employing both qualitative and quantitative measures.

I conducted a full-scale audit and redesign of the site to help the company adapt to the new user and business needs due to Covid-19. My process included: Customer and stakeholder interviews, competitor analysis, full redesign of the current site, usability testing of the new design.

As the lead researcher on a redesign of the website for this nonprofit focused on culinary job training, I was involved with all aspects of the UX research and design process. I was solely responsible for, or contributed to, all of the following elements: Benchmark usability testing, competitive analysis, interviews, survey creation, administration and data collection, personas and journey maps, wire framing, low fidelity to high fidelity prototyping/interaction design, visual design and usability testing, creation of the research report and presentation of the deliverables to the client.

I was tasked with creating a redesign of the website for this nonprofit supporting young women in Rwanda. I worked with the founder, a photographer and writer but was solely responsible for all aspects of the UX research and design process. This involved: Competitor analysis, interviews, survey creation, administration, and data analysis,  affinity mapping, concept modeling, card sort, site map creation, wireframing and hi-fi design.

I created a redesign of The Source mobile grade reporting app used by the Seattle School District, integrating citizenship and assignment grading criteria. I worked alone and was responsible for all aspects of the research and design process. This involved: Student interviews, teacher interviews, ethnographic observations, benchmark usability testing, heuristic review, affinity mapping, low to hi-fi design, prototyping, usability testing the new design and presentation to the client.

I'm passionate about supporting and helping clients find solutions in their own lives through a variety of ways ranging from research-based methodologies to individual and group talk therapy and more. Experience includes:

  • Crisis intervention: Provide immediate response to urgent emerging issues.​

  • Ongoing one-on-one counseling: Provide therapeutic treatment of mood disorders.​

  • Group therapy: Facilitate and co-facilitate up to eight student groups at a time on topics including drug use, body dysmorphic disorders, Autism, divorce, friendship skills, LGBTQ issues and more. â€‹

  • Research-based consult with teachers: Use qualitative and quantitative data to determine a student's behavioral and academic needs and design appropriate interventions and accommodations. â€‹

  • Family therapy/parent education: Provide situational and ongoing work and mediation with families. â€‹

  • Classroom instruction and curriculum development: Topics include race and gender in the media, drug and alcohol education, social skills and more. â€‹

  • School of Rock program director: Direct and teach an after-school music program that targets struggling students.
